Docent-led tours are available during open hours.
Contact us to make a reservation for groups of 12 or more.  

The Research Room is open every Tuesday 9-3 and by appointment on Wednesday - Saturday when staffing is available.  Please contact us or stop in.

The County Museum is closed every Monday, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, December 20 - December 26 and New Year's Day.

The Museum is located just off Highway 50 next to the El Dorado County Fair Grounds.  Free Parking is available in front of the Museum on Placerville Drive.


The Railroad has REOPENED starting October 25 and is complying with State and County requirements:
 Wear face coverings, stay 6 feet apart from non-household members, and sanitize/wash hands often; stay home if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.

The railroad will be operation

$8 per age 9 and up, $3 per 3-8 years old

Sunday - 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM
